ARLENE LIMAS

A native of Chicago, Arlene Limas is a 5th Degree Black Belt in American Tae Kwon Do. She has been studying the Martial Arts since she was five years old.

Arlene won gold in Tae Kwon Do when the Korean martial art debuted as a demonstration sport at the '88 Seoul Olympics. South Koreans dominated, winning three of the four gold medals awarded, but Arlene out-pointed her South Korean opponent to capture gold in the welterweight division.

When the U.S. National Anthem failed to play during her award ceremony, she led the crowd in singing a rousing rendition. She won numerous other titles, including gold at the '84 and '91 World  Tae Kwon Do Championships. Arlene is a member of several Halls of Fame, including the Black Belt Hall of Fame. She is now owner/operator of Power Kix Karate in Stafford, Virginia.
